Tips for Photographing Children
TIPS FOR PHOTOGRAPHING CHILDREN
Children are beautiful magical little humans full of wide eyed wonderment. It is difficult to pose children so the following are some tricks, have your camera ready and be prepared for anything!
*EMBRACE SOMETHING THEY LOVE! Whether it is a stick or bubbles when a child finds something they love the magic lights up from within!
*RUN THEM OUT!
*INCLUDE A FRIEND
*LET THEM BE WILD
*A PLAYFUL APPROACH! A Kid will never be uncooperative as long as the portrait session looks like fun! Don't make them pose, make them play instead! Peek a Boo is a perfect example to capture a smiling face with with young kids effortlessly!
*DAD TOSS! When a young toddler is squirming and won't pose, I'll have the dad toss the child up into the air! The key is to take the photo after the child comes down from the toss who inevitably looks at me or the dad!
*ENCOURAGE INTERACTION! A Task or direction gives a child purpose and usually are more willing to cooperate.
*LET THEM PERFORM FOR YOU! Ask the children to show you their tricks and talents! Let them show off for you and capture every moment!
